Toronto’s flashback

Toronto-freeThis is an unusual post since I normally do not write about long travels, I usually try to stick to 4-hour-travels within Geneva. However, as you noticed in my social media I spent 10 days in Toronto for work and 1 for visit and shopping. I was able to discover so many places,  I had to share them with you in case you are planning a trip to Toronto in the upcoming months!

I stayed at the legendary Royal York by Fairmont (I even had a ghost experience lol)! I was so happy to stay in this hotel since it is perfectly located, wonderful service, to-die-for-breakfast and the bedding is outstanding. Because I was working for super long hours and short nights I really needed to rest as much as possible and I was not disappointed.FRY 3

I was lucky to be in one of their renovated rooms which are wonderful! The bathroom area was spotless, comfortable and there was a shower (I prefer showers in hotels). The sink area is big, so I was able to put all my make up and beauty essentials there, they also provide an blowdryer so you do not need to carry it around.

What I loved about this hotel is that it fells like it has a soul, the building has a history and from the outside it stands out from the rest of the buildings, you really feel like you are staying in a one-of-a-kind hotel (even the Queen of England stayed there 😮 ) !! Check their history here.FRY 2

Every day after work we went with the team for dinner, here are some of the recommended restaurants we tried:

  1. Pai – Amazing Thaï food, great decor and top service! An article on spotted by locals here.
  2. El Catrin – One of the best Mexican Restaurants I have tried outside of Mexico. It is located in the Distillery district that is a must see whilst in Toronto.el catrin
  3. Crush – More upscale, wine bar, small portions with great taste
  4. Sushi Extra – A perfect spot for eating sushi while shopping on Queen Street

 To Do:

I have to admit I avoided touristic activities and since I visited Toronto before I did not go to Niagara Falls; however, if this is the first time for you, you should totally go!

I went shopping in Queen Street and Eaton Centre and walked around a lot, which is what I like the most 🙂

Hope you enjoyed this mega summarised article and I hope it will be useful for you!

PS- Non of these pictures are mine, they are all taken from the places website and the one from Toronto has the link to the webpage I took it from.
