Oh, this time I take you to the Michelin Star World of restaurants with La Bottega in Geneva; a gastronomical Italian place with surprise menus from the young and talented Chef Fernando Tommaso Forinoand (@fernandotommaso )flavours to explore beyond imagination.
Last time I was at La Bottega was just after their opening in 2015! Back then they were on another location (where they have now La Osteria). I remember having a great time there and enjoying the delicious food.
I was delighted to discover their cuisine again, since it has changed completely from what I remembered! Actually I can even say, it has nothing to do with what I remember!
Now, it is a fresh, creative and explosive Italian cuisine that makes you travel through senses into the world of food and gastronomy.
A surprising things they have in the restaurant is the Degustation Menus, you choose the number of courses you want to have and the chef takes care of the rest! Here are the Menus for lunch:
Menu Business – 3 courses – 58 CHF
Menu Dejeuner – 3 courses – 85 CHF

Amuse Bouches made from Jagermeister! Loved the fun side of it!
Not a tomato, just a trompe l’oeil! It is an amuse bouche made with tuna!
Salmon trout with small doses of homemade mayonnaise & apple sauce; beautifully decorated with edible flowers
After the super fun amuse-bouche that brought be a smile and childhood memories, we enjoyed the salmon trout that was almost too beautiful to touch!
I really like how edible flowers can make a dish pop and make the experience more enoyable!
Continuing with this “fake” egg! Love it, instead of a traditional egg yolk there was a langoustine covered with Tonka bean! 10/10 !
Zafran risotto with mussels, this was my favorite dish! It was not the most photogenic because the dish was reflecting from the window, but it was so so delicious!

Why I loved?
The suprise menu was really a highlight for me! The fact of not needing to choose what you are going to order and blindly trust the chef is really satisfying and fun! It is like going to a friends house and just enyoing the dinner.
The attention to details, I mentioned I was being careful with gluten and they were lovely by bringing me Gluten-Free bread, making sure there was no Gluten in my food and being extra careful with everything. I appreciated the attention of the decoration of each dish, they were as beautiful as they were tasty.
The profesional service; in Geneva we are not always lucky with service, and sometimes it can be far from ideal. That is why I also loved the service at La Bottega since it is super porfessional and efficient.
The delicious food! Last but not least, the food was fantastic, it was fresh different and creative. No matter how many times you go you can alway have something different since it varies from the chef’s inspiration. The desert was a total blast!

Concept: Like Gastronomical suprise menus or a-la-carte, fine dining but not too formal.
Atmosphere: Loved the atmosphere, it is laid back, but professional. Traditional but modern too.
