But, I went there with an open mind and a good camera to take pictures & videos!
My first VLOG of these series:
VLOG #1: The School with the best view in the world
So, for the first I will be sharing my experience while visiting the Bellevue restaurant at Glion.
The following Vlogs will be either from recent experiences or also #latervlogs with previous holidays and vacations where I took a lot of footage, but I never edit it :s
For this experience we stayed at the Grand Suisse Hotel Majestic in Montreux that was already a dream by itself! I need to write a post only about this! But in the meantime some pictures about the hotel:
I was very excited to visit Glion, because it is super interesting to see a similar school like mine (I studied in Les Roches that is actually a sister school of Glion) but different. Same same, but different.
Founded in 1962, Glion Institute of Higher Education is focused on education on the Hospitality business. The first semester takes place at the Glion campus and here is where students from 90 different nationalities learn all the practical arts.
It was ranked as the #5 best school in the hospitality business and #1 on employees reputation.
Located on the hillsides of Montreux it has definitely the best view in the world for a school. If you know of another school with this view, please comment below :D!
We discovered a fraction of what students learn during their first semester with 3 different workshops to choose from. I chose the kitchen module (obviously) and it was like being back at school, but with a camera and not really having a lot of pressure.
We learnt how to make a delicious vegan-gluten free couscous, that honestly was tremendously delicious (I was not expecting it to be WOW since you know when they say Gluten free bla bla you expect grass food LOL) we created that with raw broccoli & cauliflower! It was mmmmm yummy.
After the workshops at FRESH we went to the Main Campus area where the Bellevue (translation BEAUTIFUL VUE ) Restaurant is located!
We had an explanation about the school, its recent renovation & decoration (That is worth a 5 star hotel BTW) . There wasn’t a single person in the crowd that was not in AWE in front of this stunning view!
Le Bellevue restaurant is named after the hotel that was originally located there in the 19th century. It opened its doors last February to welcome guests from Monday to Friday for lunch & dinner.
The restaurant is lead by two significant profiles in the industry:
The former two Michelin-starred chef Dominique Toulousy is the executive chef of Le Bellevue and Chantal Wittmann (MOF) is the restaurant Manager.
