2019 Swiss Bucket List

Hello dears,

First of all Happy New Year 2019! I really wish you lots of happiness

For this year I want to share with you my personal Swiss Bucket list. I am hoping to do them all this year, so clearly I need to start planning!

Last year I shared 5 amazing hotels to add to your 2018 bucket list

Switzerland is such a beautiful country that is worth visiting and discovering it! From Geneva it is easy to move by train, car, boat or bike (!!) from one place to another. In Switzerland we have many natural landscapes, stunning hotels and memorable gastronomic experiences, here are some I would love to do this year:

My 2019 Swiss Bucket List – 12 places I want visit this year!

1.- Lake Blausee

I discovered this Swiss Paradise from scrolling on instagram for Swiss inspiration and became obsessed with it! This year I am dreaming of visiting this place and maybe have a shoot there!

2.-  Aescher Restaurant & hike !

It is on all the lists of “things to see in Switzerland” and yet I haven’t been yet! I would love to visit this place and the beautiful views it offers!

This has been one of the most visited places in Switzerland since it was on a National Geographic cover!

3.- Stay at Hotel 7132

This hotel has been on my list for a very very long time and I decided to just do it this year! They are located literally in the middle of Switzerland and has a stunning architecture, beautiful design and known for great service! Who does not dream to wake up in the middle of Swiss Nature!

5.-  St. Moritz

I am going to tell you a secret … I have never set foot on St. Moritz! I know… shame on me. I have just haven’t had the chance and it is not like you can hop on a train and get there. I takes 6hrs by car and 7 by train, so it is better to plan longer than a weekend there. Fingers crossed soon you will se a post like the one below on my feed!

6.-  Spend a night at Chetzeron Hotel

You know how much I love Crans-Montana! We go there almost every year, and I used to live there when I was a student. However, I have never had the chance to stay in this stunning and unique hotel in the middle of the slopes, you go to sleep in the middle of the snow and wake up to the most wonderful view!

7.-  Visit Lac de Joux

At 1:30 min from Geneva you have the biggest natural skating rink in Switzerland and Europe. When the winter comes the lake freezes and it becomes a winter wonderland!  Equipment is available for hire in Le Sentier or Le Pont during the busy period.

9.-  Have dinner at Domaine de Châteauvieux

One of the few Two Michelin Stars in Switzerland is not far away from Geneva, it is actually in the canton! Philippe Chevrier is the chef of  Domaine de Chàteauvieux and his cuisine is known to be amazing! So it is more than obvious that it should be on me bucket list of this year!

Hey happy new year to you too!

I think the second place in Appenzell had to close because the tourist masses that came after it got instagram famous were too much for that tiny restaurant that has to have its produce delivered from very far down in the valley. They literally had to give up their dream and their home because of this kind of advertisement. Same with the Blausee, it used to be a secret spot for us locals, now it’s not free anymore and there are hordes of tourists. I don’t really want my home to become a second Bali… please be considerate about that.

It’s nature should be respected, the reason to go there should not be an instagram post. Go there, enjoy it, keep it clean and don’t make it out be be some check-point of your instagram to do list.

Wish you lots of adventures in 2019!
