Have you noticed that we barely know our own city’s hotels? I guess it is normal since we have a place to sleep; however, I keep thinking that they are underrated , and ofter when people ask us to recommend a hotel in our own city we have no idea.
Starting with the Hotel d’Angleterre and now The Bristol Hotel I have been lucky to discover some of the best hotels in Geneva. As soon as I have a little bit more time under my hands I will try to explore them one by one and bring you all the juicy details.
A couple of weeks ago I was invited to discover The Bristol Hotel Geneva; a hotel that has been part of Geneva’s scenery for a long time and that is visited by thousands of business and touristic visitors every year. What I really liked about this hotel is the good balance between comfort, location (exactly between the lake and the train station), luxury and discretion. The key to this balance is that it is a 4 star hotel, with a 5 star service; it is very calm and elegant, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is almost like a second home away from home.
I did not sleep in the hotel, but I had the chance to visit the rooms, and they are spacious and look super comfortable. The amenities are super nice and the bathrooms are made of white marble. It is everything you need for a nice stay in Geneva with out splurging into the non-sense luxury.
I was there for breakfast and I HAVE to congratulate the Chef for his croissants!! They are amazing!! I am a big big fan of French croissants and they are not that easy to find in Geneva; however these pastries are really on top! All of these delicious morning treats are surrounded by the music of live harp which make you feel relaxed and ready to start a productive morning.
The restaurant Cote Square is open from Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner and during weekends the serve in the bar for a more relaxed ambiance. The breakfast is served everyday (of course) from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. (10.30 a.m. at weekends)! They have also the Tea Time that is served from 3pm to 7pm to take time and enjoy a cuppa of tea! I have not tried the restaurant apart from the Breakfast, however judging by the croissants I am sure that it is pretty good!
So if you are looking for a hotel or a business lunch it is a nice option in Geneva!
I hope to bring you more articles from hotels sooooon! Have a nice week!
