Happy 3rd Birthday LIVINGENEVA! & some truths about blogging

Hello dears!

It is that time of the year again were I stop (kind-of) and celebrate what I have done the previous year. But this time I want it to be about YOU, YES YOU THE READER!

Weekend Getaway: A magical Stay at Park Weggis

Dear Switzerland,

Why are you so magical?

Come with me to discover the amazing Park Weggis Resort!

Park Weggis

Since I arrived to Switzerland I can’t stop being surprised about the amazing hospitality, stunning landscapes and incredible locations.  Park Weggis is a resort in the Lucerne area (approximately 20 min from Lucerne if you surround the lake), that offers 52 exclusive rooms & suites, 3 restaurants and 2 bars.

Restaurant La Brasserie

Park Weggis is part of Swiss Deluxe Hotels and also Relais & Chateaux. Making it a synonym of luxury, comfort and memorable stays.

The views are terrific! And guess what? There is a micro-climate that makes it a place where Palm Trees grow, it is warmer than Lucerne and the vegetation is different.

View of the Private Beach

It is 3 hours by car from Geneva, making it perfect for the weekend, either for one or two nights. The ideal escape for a romantic getaway.

Our Room (Suite)

We stayed at an Adara Deluxe Junior Suite, just wait to see the bathroom! I think it is bigger than our room in Geneva!

Bathroom at Adara Deluxe Junior Suite

The Suite is divided in 3 zones: 1) The Bathroom, 2) The Room & 3) The living room and terrace. Hard to tell which one is my favorite… I think I will go for the living room and terrace, since I fell in love with this couch ⬇️

A great feature is the fact that you can close the curtains around the bed and make it a “Princess Bed” !!

The Private Spa Suite

Ladies & Gent, let me introduce you to the MOST EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCE I have ever lived. I have been to Spas before, but never like this. At Park Weggis you can have YOUR OWN SPA, yes you read correctly, you can actually rent a whole spa for you and your partner for hours, until your fingertips look all wrinkled and old (literally).

All this, just for you

The suites are huge; inside you have your OWN jacuzzi, your OWN hamman,  a fountain with cold water to walk around (you need to be brave to walk around there), a shower, a toilet, a zone for massage and a water bed.

We stayed there for 2 full hours, listening to Ellie Goulding (you can choose from tons of CDs) sipping our Rooibos tea and eating bites of fresh food. I can tell you 2 hours is almost short. When they call you (15 min before your time is up) you almost feel like crying… “I never want to leave here”!!

I am so proud to say we owned a Jacuzzi for 2 hours :D!!!

Recap of the Instagram Stories take over:

Infinite Pool

The pool goes infinite until it blends together with the trees and the lake.

Park Grill

We had lunch here and it was wonderful! We were actually supposed to leave after breakfast, but we were scared to be hungry in the way to Geneva, so we had lunch here and WE DO NOT REGRET IT!

At Park Grill they serve mostly meet, but I went for the Lobster! The meat was extraordinary, I had to steal a bit from hubby 🙂

The view from the restaurant is breathtaking and I loved the fact that you can go either if it is nice weather or not.
100% recommnded!

Hotel Report: Lausanne Palace & SPA

Hello readers !

Are you ready for a new Hotel Report ?? This time I am taking you with me to the Lausanne Palace & Spa ! A marvelous hotel located in the Center of Lausanne (30 min train from Geneva).

It seems like I have a weakness for Swiss Deluxe Hotels… You can see more of my adventures in this article.

View from our Room (404)

We went there for 2 reasons, for a friend’s graduation & to run The Color Run in Lausanne! Since it is very close we did not stayed there the whole weekend, but only went there for a night.

We were super lucky to be upgraded from our standard room to a lake view room! We stayed in Room 404 . This was magical and made our stay 10X better! Not only we were able to enjoy a magical sunset, but also fill ourselves of infinite views of the Leman Lake.

Restaurants & Venues

The Lausanne Palace hosts 4 restaurants with all of them a different style. All of them recognised both by visitors and locals in Lausanne.

La Table d’Edgard

La Table d’Edgard is the Palace’s «Creative Laboratory».  A Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, which follows the waltz of seasons and the golden rules of dietary balance. Be it with short cooking methods or time-consuming stews, the inventiveness of the Chef and his team expresses itself in a refined and light manner: organic, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil replace cream and butter sauces which honours the organically grown meat and seafood prepared to perfection. An exclusive pleasure crowned by a unique view of Lake Geneva and the Alps, as well as a beautiful terrace for long summer nights.

La Table d’Edgard awarded 1 Michelin star and 18 Gault Millau points.

The Brasserie Grand Chêne

The only typical Parisian Brasserie in Lausanne, the Grand-Chêne immerses guests in the atmosphere of
the 1930s. With popular traditional dishes such as the Alsatian Sauerkraut, the Café de Paris entrecôte, mussels and fries, rich stews or Shellfish platters. The Brasserie du Grand-Chêne welcomes guests every day of the week in a setting eminiscent of the bustling and buoyant Parisian life: green leather wall seats, copper ornaments and tags of celebrities who are restaurant regulars.

La Brasserie du Grand Chêne was awarded 13 points Gault Millau.

Known as the best Spa in the city (and definitely the largest) the Spa is an oasis of calm and peace. We went there just before dinner to relax a little bit and pretend to swim to cross out our daily activity (it did not really worked lol, I was only floating around… and relaxing)
