Staying at the Crans Ambassador

Staying at the Crans Ambassador 5*

Hello, dears!

Welcome back to the blog! Today I want to take you Crans-Montana and more specifically to the Crans-Ambassador; a 5 star hotel located in the highest part of the station.

We went there for the first time 3 years ago, and we have returned every year since. The hotel has the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. It is beautiful, modern and spacious without being too much; what I would define as smart luxury.

You can check my IGTV of the weekend here!

I love so many things about this hotel, an amazing feature is the ski slopes at 5 minutes walking and their ski shop that takes care of your equipment when you arrive!

The hotel is part of a Swiss hotel group called Victoria Jungfrau. As soon as you enter, you have the most amazing view of the Swiss alps and their terrace is waiting for you with a heart warming fire.

The lobby is on the 7th floor of the hotel, along with their panoramic terrace, the lobby bar and the ski shop!

All the rooms have a cozy and modern design with everything you need. You can really feel that the rooms have been well thought out, there is a lot of room for storage, and all the elements are practical and comfortable.

The bathroom is located between the entrance and the bedroom and has a beautiful bathtub that just screams your name!

We were lucky to stay in a room with a mountain view, so the room also had a balcony with a panoramic view of Crans-Montana and the alps!

The Breakfast

Breakfast for me is one of the most important things in a hotel and even in a day in general. I love when hotels have a wide variety of items to offer for breakfast!

At the Crans-Ambassador there are a lot of delicious things! The first year, I remember we had breakfast in the room once and this time we had it in the restaurant. Both are fantastic!

They have from fruits, to cereals, to ham & cheese and scrambled eggs! I wish I could have this type of breakfast everyday!

The Spa

Their amazing spa is located on the 5th floor. It is Nescens just like the one at La Réserve in Geneva ! They have one of the best cosmetic lines in Switzerland and have several locations around Europe.

Last year I had the chance to try one of their massages and it was a dream!

The pool is really big and is not like a jacuzzi type of pool, it is more like a real pool, you can actually swim in it. Then they have the hammam, sauna and relaxation area which is next to the pool (no children under 16 allowed) that is very nice and the atmosphere is zen. They offer herbal tea and lemon water, nice touch.

There is also a huge fitness center with a sick view of the alps and Crans-Montana in general that actually makes you want to go to the gym…. just maybe. The only thing missing is an outside jacuzzi, I really love when ski resorts have an outside heated water facility, it makes the whole experience very magical.

The Terrace:

Suspended in mid-air, this terrace has a view that takes your breath away! In the afternoon they serve delicious crepes and you can enjoy a beer or a hot chocolate!

Just look at the photos!

My 2019 Swiss Bucket List

2019 Swiss Bucket List

Hello, dears.

First of all Happy New Year 2019! I really wish you lots of happiness.

For this year, I want to share with you my personal Swiss Bucket list. I am hoping to check them all off this year, so clearly I need to start planning!

Last year I shared 5 amazing hotels to add to your 2018 bucket list

Switzerland is such a beautiful country. It is worth visiting and discovering it! From Geneva, it is easy to move by train, car, boat or bike (!!) from one place to another. In Switzerland we have many natural landscapes, stunning hotels and memorable gastronomic experiences. Here are some that I would love to do this year:

My 2019 Swiss Bucket List – 12 places I want visit this year!

1.- Lake Blausee

I discovered this Swiss paradise from scrolling on instagram for Swiss inspiration and became obsessed with it! This year I am dreaming of visiting this place and maybe even having a shoot there!

2.-  Aescher Restaurant & hike !

It is on all the lists of “things to see in Switzerland” and yet, I haven’t been! I would love to visit this place and the beautiful views it offers!

This has been one of the most visited places in Switzerland ever since it was featured on a National Geographic cover!

3.- Stay at Hotel 7132

This hotel has been on my list for a very very long time and I decided to just do it this year! It is located literally in the middle of Switzerland and has stunning architecture, beautiful design and is known for great service! Who doesn’t dream of waking up in the middle of Swiss nature!

4.-  Walk the dogs at  Col du St. Bernard

Imagine yourself surrounded by cheerful Bernard puppies and then going for a walk with them. I don’t know about you, but for me, this looks like heaven.

5.-  St. Moritz

I am going to tell you a secret … I have never set foot in St. Moritz! I know… shame on me. I just haven’t had the chance and it’s not like you can just quickly hop on a train and get there. I takes 6hrs by car and 7 by train, so it’s better to plan for a bit longer than a weekend there. Fingers crossed, soon you will see a post like the one below on my feed!

6.-  Spend a night at Chetzeron Hotel

You know how much I love Crans-Montana! We go there almost every year and I used to live there when I was a student. However, I have never had the chance to stay in this stunning and unique hotel in the middle of the slopes. You go to sleep in the middle of the snow and wake up to the most wonderful views!

7.-  Visit Lac de Joux

At only 1.5 hrs from Geneva, you have the biggest natural skating rink in Switzerland and Europe. In the winter the lake freezes and it becomes a winter wonderland! Equipment is available for hire in Le Sentier or Le Pont, during the busy period.

8.-  Visit Interlaken and stay at the Victoria Jungrauf

Interlaken is considered one of the most beautiful regions of Switzerland with breathtaking views of the lakes and mountains surrounding the landscape! I would love to visit the region and stay in the legendary Victoria Jungfrau hotel!

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ° ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

9.-  Have dinner at Domaine de Châteauvieux

One of the few Two-Michelin-Star restaurants in Switzerland and not far away from Geneva (it is actually in the canton!). Philippe Chevrier is the chef of  Domaine de Chàteauvieux and his cuisine is known to be amazing! So it is more than obvious that it should be on my bucket list this year!

10.-  Have dinner at The Restaurant of the Dolder Grand

Also a Two-Michelin-Star restaurant! And also Chef of the Year 2019 by Gault et Millau, The Restaurant is a must try in Zurich and of course Switzerland too!

11.-  Take the Glaciar Express from  Zermatt to St. Moritz

You know how much I love Zermatt and the views from there! One of my dreams, since I came to Switzerland, is to take the Glaciar Express! It is a unique experience in terms of views, landscapes and visits. I need to book it now for the next winter season!

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ° ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

12.-  Spend a night at the Mirador and enjoy their wonderful view

The views from this hotel are unique and probably one of the best of the Leman Lake! This year I want to wake up to this view!

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ° ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

That is my final bucket list for this year. I am hoping to do them all little by little!

Do you have any bucket list items or places you really want to visit in Switzerland this year?? Comment below!

Kisses and Happy new Year!
