Welcome back to the blog! Are you ready for a bunch of new places to try?
These past months have been C-R-A-Z-Y, with openings here and there and I have been going out to eat more than ever!
So I wanted to put all the places I have tried in one single post so you know what is going on in Geneva!
New places in Geneva
1.- Osteria Zaza
Went there 1 week after its opening (Nov 25th) and was so thrilled because it is like 5 min walking from my house and there is not much going on around here.
I absolutely loved the place, de decor, the laid back atmosphere and the most important the PIZZAS! With their specialized oven an an experienced Pizzaiolo there is a recipe for legendary pizzas (psst you can take away too)
Why we ♥ : The homemade pasta, the delicious cocktails & the napolitan pizza
We love less Ø: They could have half portions, my pasta was huge! I did not mind since the have doggy bags 🙂
#invitation. A new Mexican in town guys! I went the very first day of service to try and taste this new place! Loved the decoration and the real Mexican feeling you have. Anthony & Raphaël partnered with Alma from Los Tacos to create authentic Mexican recipes to please everyone. I tried almost all the MENU and my favorite were definitely the quesadillas and the tacos de pibil.
Why we ♥ : The decoration & the home made salsas!
We love less Ø: The tortillas are missing the corn flavor that I was expecting.
The new place for all-day-brunch on Saturdays & Sundays! I have also been for lunch and was super happy with it, I had a Salad once and other the tuna bagel… so so good!!
Why we ♥ : The all day brunch is fabulous! Since it is opened until 19:00
We love less Ø: The first time I went the service was a little disoriented, but I guess this is normal.. I mean it was like the 2nd day after opening 🙂 I came back twice after that and everything was smoooooth
My friend who recommended this place to me calls it the “date restaurant” and it is so true! I went there for lunch and we were lucky to still eat outside so I was not able to admire so much the decor. I loved the bar in the middle and the super good food! They have an affordable “plat du jour” and it was super super yummy. If I remember correctly it was 26 CHF
Why we ♥ : The location & foods makes it s perfect place for dinner with a date
We love less Ø: For me moment we love it all… 🙂
Schedules: Mon-Sat 8h – 1am (non-stop!)
Website: Chez Calvin Instagram: Chez Calvin Telephone: +41 (0) 22 735 58 58 Address: 2 RUE DU NANT, 1207 GENÈVE
After taking NYC by assault, Black Tap makes quite an entrance in Geneva! When I got there there was already a 30 min queue and it was only 12:00 :o! No surprise, these shakes are quite a thing to see live and well, we all love an EPIC #foodie moment right?
Why we ♥ : The massive CRAZY Shakes – I tried the cookie one and the shake tastes so much like cookies!!
We love less Ø: I was not CRAZY about the burgers…. the meat was good but nothing to queue about
I had heard so much about Ramen, and when I finally went to Umamido I realized I had NEVER eaten RAMEN! So this was my first Ramen experience. I liked the concept of the noodle soup that is actually a complete meal with meat, an egg, vegetables, the broth….. It was cool, and I was happy to discover a new thing. I will come back, but I would not go as far as queuing for it.
Why we ♥ : New concept, cool to have a Ramen place. LOOOOVED the pork buns!
We love less Ø: I had the spicy one… not my type of Ramen. I switched it with hubby, it was much much better hiihihi
A fresh & healthy place in the neighborhood of plainpalais. The have all the california-dreaming dishes. Quinoa, avocado & also breakfast. I had the Pepper Pokebowl and was super satified with it, it had kale, rice, salmon and other vegetables.
Why we ♥ : The healthy and vegan options
We love less Ø: I am getting a little tired of seeing the same things everywhere… avocado toasts, quinoa etc…. Is it just me? And a Pokebowl at 32 CHF is a little exaggerated.. even for Geneva.
A lovely cafe that has been around for a little while, but I haven’t had the time to pay a visit. I went there one afternoon to work on the blog and just sip a almond milk capu & taste the chou! What is CHOU? It is the rounded pastries they sell that are filled with tons of different flavours. My fave? The Salty Caramel one! … in L-O-V-E
Why we ♥ : The minimalist deco & the chou of course!
We love less Ø: … let me think… nothing really, I enjoyed it a lot!
This placed earned a special place in my #foodieheart . I went there with my #partnerincrime Nouhad from choisistonresto.com I was hooked since the first bite.
Mmmmm who doesn’t LOVE a good, warm, tasty dish of homemade pasta? I do and therefore I loved Fabbrica Pasta. A tiny restaurant parallel to RUE DES BAINS, hidden in a corner, bursting with light when you pass by. With its turquoise wall and open kitchen, it invites anyone passing by … actually that is how I found out about it!
I had the black pasta with seafood …. I can still taste it in my mouth … so yummy
Why we ♥ : The coziness and the food obviously… I need to check my genes, maybe I am italian
We love less Ø: Well it is often fully booked, so when you want to go you stay with the need… so sad
#invitation. Opened this Spring Les Philosophes has a special way to have after-work. I was invited to try their concept! You come and you serve yourself what you want, no need to wait for the waiter to come and take the order. They have a super good wine wine (picture below) and many different things to eat for “apero”
Why we ♥ : The feel-at-home vibe
We love less Ø: Not sure people got the concept… so the place feels quite empty and the bar part is quite big
Well my loves this is the end of this super long list! If you noticed I added some #invited before the places I was actually invited. This does not change in the slightest the perception I have from the place, I just want to be transparent with you and like this you can see I DO sometimes get invited… and sometimes… well, I pay like everyone else #lifeislife
Have you been to any of these places? I would love to know what you think of them!
See you soon on the blog!!
